Iron ore pellets are small, spherical agglomerates produced from iron ore fines through a process of pelletizing and induration. They serve as a premium raw material for steelmaking, offering uniform size, high iron content, and excellent metallurgical properties. Pellets are primarily used in blast furnaces and direc reduction plants, where their high strength, consistent chemistry, and superior permeability contribute to greater efficiency, lower fuel consumption, and reduced emissions compared to lump ore or sinter.
